Connecting a TiVo Phone Adapter to your Premiere or Premiere XL

Your Premiere or Premiere XL DVR needs to connect to the TiVo service to receive program listings, service updates, and other information. If you don't have broadband internet access, but you do have an analog telephone line (land line) or DSL phone connection, you can use the TiVo Phone Line Adapter to connect to the TiVo service through your telephone line.

IMPORTANT: Without a broadband internet connection, your TiVo Premiere or Premiere XL will not be able to display HD TiVo menus. Only the SD TiVo menus will be visible.

To install the TiVo Phone Line Adapter

  1. Connect the USB end of the TiVo Phone Line Adapter to one of the USB ports on the back of your Premiere or Premiere XL.

  1. Connect the other end of the TiVo Phone Line Adapter to one end of the telephone cord.
  2. Connect the other end of the telephone cord to a nearby telephone jack. Use the provided splitter if your Premiere or Premiere XL is sharing the wall jack with a telephone.

NOTE: If you have DSL, make sure you use a DSL filter when connecting the phone cord to the wall jack.
