How to Transfer TiVo Service to a New TiVo DVR

Use the chart below to determine if your plan can be transferred.

NOTE: Transferring service does not also transfer an extended warranty. An extended warranty is attached to the TiVo DVR for which it was purchased and cannot be transferred to a new DVR (except in the case of an exchange within 90 days).

These plans can be transferred to another Series1, Series2, Series3 or TiVo HD DVR. Log in to My Account and click on the Change service number link under Account Information to transfer your service.

Roamio Series and Premiere Series DVRs

These plans cannot be transferred to another TiVo Roamio Series or Premiere Series DVR.
$19.99 per month (including MSD)

Roamio Series and Premiere Series DVRs

This plan can be transferred to any TiVo DVR. Log in to My Account and click on the Change service number link under Account Information to transfer your service.
Product Lifetime Service Any TiVo DVR

Product Lifetime Service is valid only for the life of the TiVo DVR for which it was originally purchased and can be transferred to another DVR only in one of the following situations:

  • You activated the TiVo DVR with Product Lifetime Service less than 30 days ago.
  • The TiVo DVR was exchanged under warranty, either through the retailer or the manufacturer. (Proof of this exchange will be required).
  • The TiVo DVR was activated under an incorrect service number.

If this option is not available your plan cannot be transferred to another TiVo DVR.

Extended Warranty

Transferring service does not transfer an Extended Warranty, as it is attached to the TiVo DVR for which it was purchased and cannot be transferred to a new DVR (except in the case of an exchange within 90 days).
