How do I transfer my TiVo Service to a new DVR?

You can transfer any monthly or prepaid TiVo Service Payment Plan except Product Lifetime Service to another TiVo DVR at any time.

You can transfer Product Lifetime Service to another DVR only if:

  • You activated the DVR with Product Lifetime Service less than 30 days ago.
  • The DVR was exchanged under warranty, either through the retailer or the manufacturer.
  • The DVR was activated under an incorrect service number.

WARNING:  Rebates offered with the purchase of a new or refurbished TiVo DVR apply only if you activate a new service agreement. You will not receive a rebate if you transfer an existing service agreement to the newly-purchased DVR.

Follow the steps below to transfer TiVo Service to your new DVR:
  1. Go to My Account.
  2. Log in to Manage My Account, or create a new login. If you encounter trouble logging in, visit I am having problems logging in to My Account.
  3. Select Change service number from the left navigation bar and follow the prompts.
