NOTE: The Opera TV App Store runs cloud-based apps. This means that the apps are never permanently stored on your DVR. Instead, your DVR accesses the apps from Opera TV's server.

Requirements

You need to meet the following requirements to use the Opera TV App Store for TiVo:

Compatible DVRs

The Opera TV App Store is compatible with all Roamio Series and Premiere Series DVRs as well as with TiVo Mini.


Software version

To use Opera TV App Store, your Roamio Series DVR, Premiere Series DVR, or TiVo Mini must be running software version 20.3.8 or higher. To check your software version:

From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Account & System Info > System Information

Your TiVo device downloads software updates automatically as part of its daily service connection. To update manually, visit TiVo Software Version Information and follow the instructions under How to update the software on your TiVo device.


Network connection

The Opera TV App Store requires your TiVo device to have a working broadband Internet connection.

If you are having problems with the Opera TV App Store, refer to these common troubleshooting scenarios:

An app within the Opera TV App Store is not working

If you have a problem with a specific app within the Opera TV App Store, contact the app developer for technical support.


Opera TV App Store doesn't appear in my list of apps:

Premiere Series DVRs only: Opera TV App Store requires that you use the high-definition TiVo menu (HDUI). The launch point will not display in the classic standard definition menu (SDUI).

If you aren't sure which menu type you are using, go to:

From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Displays > Choose TiVo Menus > TiVo with HD Menus (Widescreen)


Roamio Series DVRs or Premieres with HDUI:

  1. Make sure your TiVo device is connected to the Internet by going to:

    From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Network > View network diagnostics > Test Internet connection

    If your connection fails, see General Network Troubleshooting Tips.

  2. If your connection is successful but you still can't see the launch point, make sure the app is selected in your video provider list:

    From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Channels > My Video Providers

  3. If these steps fail to resolve the issue, contact TiVo Customer Support.

Opera TV App Store will not launch on my standard-definition TV

Opera TV App Store will not load when the TiVo device's video output format is not HD, or if it is connected to a standard definition television via component (red/green/blue) cables.

To resolve this issue:

  • Set your video output format to 720p or higher by going to:

    From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Video > Video Output Format

  • Connect your DVR to the SD television with a composite (red/yellow/white) cable
  • [Recommended] Set the aspect correction mode to full by going to:

    From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Video > Aspect Correction Mode

    The composite video output on TiVo devices always outputs 480i, regardless of the video output chosen through the menu. You won't see high-definition video through a standard-definition television, but changing the output format on the DVR will make the app usable.
