My DVR is Changing Channels Unexpectedly

Your TiVo DVR will only change the channels on its own in order to record a program. If you are watching Live TV when the DVR needs to change the channel to record a show, you will see a message that asks you to choose whether to change the channel or cancel the recording.
If your channel is changing on its own in the middle of a program, or it changes while you are watching Live TV and you do not see a message, it is possible that your cable or satellite set top box has a built-in timer. Please refer to the user manual for the set top box or call your provider to determine how to deactivate this functionality.
