My Audio and Video are Out of Sync

Select the item that most closely resembles the issue you are experiencing:
The audio does not match the video.
(For example, it is in a different language, or consists of music with no dialog.)
Check the audio inputs on the stereo or A/V receiver. If you are using an A/V receiver, both the audio and video should pass from the source (cable and/or satellite box) to the DVR, through the stereo or A/V receiver, and then to the TV.
Check and make any changes required to ensure that both the audio and video follow the same connection path. - Restart the DVR. For instructions, go to How to restart or powercycle the DVR.
The DVR—like many TVs—has an SAP (Secondary Audio Program) option. If set incorrectly, this can cause unexpected audio effects.
Check the SAP setting on your DVR:
Roamio Series DVRs
From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Audio > Alternate Audio > Default Audio Program
Premiere Series DVRs
From TiVo Central > Settings & Messages > Settings > Audio > Alternate Audio > Default Audio Language
Series3 and earlier DVRs
From TiVo Central > Messages & Settings > Settings > Audio > Alternate Audio > Default Audio Language
- If SAP has been selected (has a yellow check mark), choose the Main option and press Select. If it has not been selected, or if you changed the setting and the problem persists, check your TV settings as well (Refer to your TV's manual for instructions.)
