TiVo Service Plans and Policies: Essentials

Information

Important: Series1–Series3 DVRs are no longer are eligible for new service plans. If you cancel an existing service plan on these DVRs, you will not be able to reactivate them. Series2 and Series3/HD DVRs with Product Lifetime Service will continue to receive service for the life of the DVR. 

 

TiVo Service Plans

The following service plans are available for TiVo devices. Not every plan is available for every device; see the tables that follow for more information.

Plan Details

Annual Plan

The Annual Plan (currently $149.99/year, plus any applicable taxes) is available for TiVo BOLT Series Unified Entertainment Systems and Roamio Pro DVRs. If you purchase a new TiVo BOLT Series Unified Entertainment System or Roamio Pro DVR with 1 year of TiVo service included, your service plan automatically will roll over to an Annual Plan, at our then-published, non-discounted rate. The service fee for the ensuing annual period will be charged (to your credit card on file with TiVo) in a single, up-front, non-refundable payment.

All-In Plan

The All-In Plan ($599.99 one-time fee, plus any applicable taxes) replaces Product Lifetime Service (PLS). The All-In Plan provides service for the life of the TiVo device for which it is purchased, and remains with the device in the event of an ownership transfer. The All-In Plan is available for TiVo BOLT Series Unified Entertainment Systems and Roamio Pro DVRs. Devices that already have PLS will continue to receive service for the life of the device.

Monthly Plan

The Monthly Plan with 1-year commitment ($14.99/month, plus any applicable taxes) is available for TiVo BOLT Series Unified Entertainment Systems, Roamio Series DVRs, and Premiere Series DVRs.

Note: You can switch to another available plan within 30 days of initial activation, or after 1 year of included TiVo service (if applicable). 

 

What happened to the Multi-Service Discount? 

The Multi-Service Discount no longer is available for new activations or reactivations. See Multi-Service Discount: No Longer Offered for more information.
 

TiVo Service Commitment 

For purchases from tivo.com and all newly activated TiVo service subscriptions, TiVo provides a 30-day Money-Back Guarantee. This means that if you return any device (excluding accessories) you purchase from tivo.com within 30 days of the order shipment date, or if you cancel any newly-activated TiVo service subscription within 30 days of the activation date, then you will receive a full refund (other than any shipping costs).  However, if (for whatever reason) TiVo does not receive your returned device within 15 days of the date your requested return is processed, then you will incur a charge (to your credit card on file with TiVo) in an amount equal to the difference between (a) the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (plus tax) for that device and (b) the purchase price you actually paid for that device. 

After 30 days from the service activation date, an Early Termination Fee will be charged for monthly plans if service is canceled before the end of the commitment period. If you cancel a prepaid plan, you will not be charged an Early Termination Fee, but you will not receive a refund of any portion of the prepaid service fee. 

When a service commitment period is fulfilled, your service plan automatically rolls over to a month-to-month or annual service plan, depending on the type of service plan to which you originally subscribed. 

If you have 1 year of TiVo service included (no longer available): The service plan will roll over to an Annual Plan, at our then-published, non-discounted rate.  The service fee for the ensuing annual period will be charged (to your credit card on file with TiVo) in a single, up-front, non-refundable payment.

If you have a Monthly Plan: The service plan will roll over to a month-to-month plan, and unless we notify you otherwise, will continue at the same rate you were paying.

If you have an Annual Plan: The service plan will roll over into a new Annual Plan, and unless we notify you otherwise, your credit card (on file with TiVo) automatically will be charged (in a single, up-front, non-refundable sum) at the same rate as the just-concluded Annual Plan.

All-In Plan/Product Lifetime Service: This service plan lasts for the life of the device, and will never roll over to another plan.

What is the policy for disputing a charge from TiVo on my credit card bill? 

You are responsible for reviewing your credit card statement for billing accuracy. If you have noticed a discrepancy relating to a TiVo charge on your credit card bill, please Contact TiVo Support as soon as you discover this discrepancy.
