|Many programs include a Secondary Audio Program (SAP), which is an alternative audio track such as Descriptive Video Services (DVS) for the visually impaired or a foreign language track.
SAP tracks conform to a different broadcast standard than the multiple language tracks that are included with some programs.
Note: Hitting the (Info) button on the remote and toggling to the desired options is the fastest and easiest way to change/select the SAP or Descriptive Video Service tracks if they are available for a given program.
To enable Secondary Audio Programming
1. Navigate to the Alternate Audio screen:
For devices running the TiVo Experience 4 (Software Version: 21.X.):
For devices running the TiVo Experience 3 (Software Version: 20.X. or earlier):
|TiVo Model||Menu Path (from TiVo HOME)|
|BOLT Series & Roamio Series DVRs||MENU > SETTINGS > AUDIO & VIDEO SETTINGS > LANGUAGE & AUDIO DESCRIPTION|
|TiVo Model||Menu Path (from TiVo Central)|
|BOLT Series & Roamio Series DVRs||Settings & Messages > Audio & Video Settings> Language & Audio description|
|Premiere Series DVRs||Settings & Messages > Settings > Audio > Alternate Audio|
|Series 3 & earlier DVRs||Messages & Settings > Settings > Audio > Alternate Audio|
2. Choose Secondary Audio Program (SAP) if available and press Select.
- If a program does not include an audio track in the selected language, the DVR will record the default audio track, which might be the only audio track for the broadcast.
- This change will only affect future recordings and live TV. It does not have any effect on previously-recorded programs.
