Transferring a TiVo Device to a New Owner
Were you looking for:
Having a TiVo device gives you interactivity with your favorite programs and movies. It helps you find programs you never knew existed. It makes sure you don't miss the latest talk show, drama, or baseball game while you're at work, on vacation, or spending time with your family.
However, if there comes a time when you have to part with your TiVo device, you may have the option of transferring ownership of your device to a new owner - a very simple process.
What kind of TiVo service would you like to transfer?
All-In Plan
IMPORTANT: You may transfer ownership of ANY model TiVo device with Product Lifetime Service or the All-in Plan. This includes legacy boxes (Series 1 –Series 3), Premiere Series, Roamio Series, and and TiVo BOLT UES. |

We are sorry that you're giving your TiVo device a new home, but we understand that situations arise when it's better to place your TiVo device with a new owner.
We recommend you and the new owner contact TiVo Support at the same time. If this is not possible, please contact us before the new owner so we can prepare the transfer for the new owner. We will need the new owner's full name and email address.
IMPORTANT: Do not ship or give your TiVo device away until you have unlinked all your accounts (e.g., Netflix, Pandora). Once you have completed this step, you will want to perform a Clear & Delete Everything on your TiVo device to clear any other remaining personal information.

Once the previous owner has contacted us to let us know the device will be transferring ownership, contact TiVo Support and we will be ready to set up your account so you can start enjoying your TiVo device!
It is important to move the TiVo device onto your own account and be assigned a Media Access Key (MAK). This will allow you to access TiVo Online, use Whole Home features, and use our free iOS and Android apps with a compatible TiVo device.

You must cancel service on your device before the new owner can activate their own service.
You are obligated to comply with all terms of your service agreement, and if you want to cancel service before the end of your commitment period, you may be subject to an early termination fee. Contact us to let us know the device will be transferring ownership.
